    What We Expect

    Everyone participating in AquaPulse programs is expected to:

    • Treat others with kindness and respect

    • Use positive language

    • Follow instructor direction and pool safety rules

    • Respect personal boundaries

    Parents and guardians are expected to model the same respectful behaviour.

    What Is Not Allowed

    AquaPulse strictly prohibits:

    • Bullying of any kind (verbal, social, physical, or online)

    • Harassment or intimidating behaviour

    • Unsafe or aggressive conduct

    • Discrimination

    • Retaliation toward anyone who raises a concern

    Reporting Concerns

    If you witness or experience bullying or harassment, please report it to:

    • Your instructor

    • AquaPulse management
      All reports are taken seriously, kept confidential, and addressed promptly.

     

    How We Respond

    AquaPulse will:

    • Listen and document the concern

    • Speak with those involved

    • Take appropriate action, which may include coaching, parent discussions, behaviour plans, temporary removal, or—if necessary—suspension from the program

     

    Our Commitment

    We are dedicated to ensuring every swimmer feels safe, supported, and included. This policy is reviewed regularly to maintain the highest standards of care and respect.

  • At AquaPulse, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a positive, respectful, and secure environment for all swimmers.

    Our Commitment

    • We have zero tolerance for any form of child abuse, neglect, exploitation, or unsafe behaviour.

    • We take a child-centred approach, always acting in the best interest of the child.

    • All staff, contractors, and volunteers share responsibility for keeping children safe.

     

    Expected Conduct

    All AquaPulse personnel must:

    • Treat children with respect, fairness, and professionalism.

    • Maintain clear boundaries and avoid being alone with a child whenever possible.

    • Communicate using positive and age-appropriate language.

    • Use photographs or videos only with proper parental consent.

    Personnel must never:

    • Engage in inappropriate physical, verbal, or digital contact with a child.

    • Use aggression, intimidation, or physical punishment.

    • Ignore or tolerate unsafe or abusive behaviour.

     

    Safety Measures

    We ensure:

    • Appropriate instructor-to-student ratios

    • Safe and visible lesson environments

    • Clear drop-off and pick-up procedures

    • Safe equipment and facility conditions

    Parents are encouraged to speak with us about any concerns relating to their child’s comfort or safety.

     

    Training & Screening

    All AquaPulse staff and volunteers receive guidance on:

    • Safe behaviour and boundaries

    • Recognizing signs of abuse

    • Mandatory reporting expectations

    All personnel are required to review and agree to follow this policy.

     

    Reporting Concerns

    If anyone sees or suspects harm, they must report it immediately.
    We will:

    • Act promptly and respectfully

    • Prioritize the child’s safety

    • Follow local reporting laws and cooperate with authorities

    If a child is in immediate danger, emergency services will be contacted.

     

    Continuous Commitment

    This policy is reviewed regularly to ensure it reflects best practices and legal requirements. Parents may request more detailed information at any time.

  • To keep our pool safe, respectful, and fun, AquaPulse follows our Code of Conduct:

     

    For Staff

    • Provide safe, professional instruction at all times

    • Treat all swimmers and families with respect

    • Communicate clearly, positively, and supportively

    • Maintain appropriate boundaries and uphold safety standards

    For Customers

    • Treat instructors, staff, and other swimmers kindly

    • Follow pool rules and staff directions for safety

    • Ensure children are supervised when not in lessons

    • Use respectful language and behaviour at all times

    AquaPulse has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behaviour. Anyone who violates these expectations may be asked to leave the facility.

    Together, we create a positive, safe environment where swimmers can learn and grow.

  • At AquaPulse, everyone is welcome. We’re committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where swimmers of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can learn and thrive.

    We celebrate diversity and ensure that all individuals—regardless of identity, ability, or experience—are treated with respect and kindness. Our team uses inclusive teaching practices, provides accommodations whenever possible, and maintains a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination or harassment.

    Our goal is simple: to make the water a place where every swimmer feels confident, valued, and at home.

  • At AquaPulse, safety is our top priority. Our instructors are certified in Swim for Life, Lifeguard/Assistant Lifeguard, and Standard First Aid/CPR, and are trained to respond quickly to any emergency.

    In the unlikely event of an emergency, we will:

    • Ensure swimmers are safe and accounted for

    • Administer first aid or CPR if needed

    • Notify emergency services and facility staff

    • Communicate promptly with parents/guardians

  • At AquaPulse, we are committed to providing safe, high-quality, and engaging swimming instruction. To maintain these standards, all instructors must meet specific certification, performance, and professional conduct requirements.

    1. Required Certifications

    All AquaPulse instructors must maintain the following valid and up-to-date certifications at all times:

    • Swim for Life Instructor (Lifesaving Society)

    • Lifeguard or Assistant Lifeguard Certification

    • Standard First Aid & CPR-C

    Instructors are responsible for renewing certifications before they expire and providing proof of completion when requested.

    2. Hiring Criteria

    AquaPulse hires instructors who demonstrate:

    • Strong swimming and water safety knowledge

    • Proven teaching or coaching experience (formal or informal)

    • A positive, welcoming attitude toward swimmers and families

    • Reliability, professionalism, and strong communication skills

    • A genuine passion for helping swimmers develop skills and confidence

    All candidates must pass a screening process, which may include interviews, reference checks, and practical teaching assessments.

    3. Expectations for Professional Conduct

    Instructors are expected to:

    • Model respectful, inclusive, and safe behaviour

    • Maintain awareness and supervision of all swimmers

    • Follow all AquaPulse policies, emergency procedures, and lesson standards

    • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive learning environment

    • Communicate clearly with parents and participants as needed

    • Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to teach

    4. Commitment to Continuous Improvement

    AquaPulse instructors are expected to:

    • Stay current with best practices in aquatic instruction

    • Participate in refresher trainings, workshops, or meetings

    • Seek feedback and continuously improve their teaching

    • Collaborate positively with fellow staff and management

    Ongoing performance evaluations may be conducted to ensure instructional quality and safety.

     

    5. Non-Compliance

    If an instructor does not meet certification or performance expectations, AquaPulse may:

    • Request immediate certification renewal

    • Provide coaching or additional training

    • Adjust or limit teaching responsibilities

    • Suspend or terminate engagement in cases of serious or repeated concerns

    • Provide safe, high-quality products such as teaching equipment, swim aids, and program materials

    AquaPulse strives to reduce our environmental footprint by:

    • Choosing suppliers who use sustainable, recyclable, or low-impact materials where possible

    • Reducing waste through responsible purchasing and long-lasting equipment

    3. Safety & Quality

    All products used in AquaPulse programs must:

    • Meet relevant Canadian safety standards

    • Be durable, well-maintained, and appropriate for aquatic environments

    • Be inspected regularly for wear or damage

     

    4. Continuous Improvement

    We regularly review our purchasing practices to ensure alignment with AquaPulse’s values of safety, responsibility, and community impact. We seek suppliers who are committed to ongoing improvement and innovation in sustainability and product quality.

  • At AquaPulse, the safety, dignity, and privacy of our swimmers—especially children—is our top priority. To maintain a respectful environment, we ask all families and visitors to follow these guidelines when taking photos or videos during lessons.

     

    Family Photography

    Parents and guardians may:

    • Take photos or short videos of their own child during lessons, as long as it does not disrupt instruction or create safety concerns.

    Parents and guardians may not:

    • Photograph or film other children without permission from their parent/guardian.

    • Capture instructors or staff without their consent.

    • Use cameras or phones in change rooms, bathrooms, or private areas.

    If you would like a group photo or an image with an instructor, please:

    1. Ask for consent from all parents/guardians of swimmers in the shot.

    2. Ask the instructor before taking the picture.

    3. Respect anyone who does not wish to be included.

     

    AquaPulse Staff Photography

    AquaPulse staff may take photos or videos only with prior written consent from a parent or guardian.
    Approved uses may include:

    • Skill tracking

    • Progress updates

    • Marketing (when explicitly agreed to)

    Staff may never take images for personal use or in private areas.

     

    Sharing on Social Media

    If you choose to share your child’s photos online, please ensure:

    • No other swimmers appear in the image unless you have their parent’s permission.

    • No personal information about other families or staff is included.

     

    Restrictions & Enforcement

    AquaPulse may limit or pause photography at any time to ensure safety and comfort.
    If this policy is not followed, AquaPulse may:

    • Request images be deleted

    • Restrict future photography

    • Remove individuals from the facility for serious or repeat violations

     

    Policy Updates

    This policy is reviewed regularly to ensure it aligns with best practices for safety, privacy, and child protection.

  • At AquaPulse, the safety and wellbeing of our swimmers, families, instructors, and visitors is our top priority. While we operate within a partner hotel’s pool facility, we share responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy environment at all times.

    Our Commitment

    We work closely with the facility’s management to ensure:

    • A clean, safe, and well-maintained pool area

    • Compliance with all health and safety regulations

    • Quick reporting and resolution of hazards or concerns

    • Clear communication with families about any safety updates

    Safety Practices

    To keep everyone safe, AquaPulse staff will:

    • Check pool conditions and equipment before every session

    • Follow all posted facility rules and emergency procedures

    • Maintain appropriate supervision and instructor-to-swimmer ratios

    • Use safe, age-appropriate teaching equipment

    • Promote safe behaviour in and around the pool

    Hazard Reporting

    We immediately report any safety concerns—such as cloudy water, damaged equipment, or visibility issues—to facility management. We also document incidents internally to improve our processes.

    Emergency Preparedness

    All instructors are familiar with:

    • Emergency exits and facility procedures

    • How to respond to medical or environmental incidents

    • When to involve hotel staff or emergency services

    Our first priority is always the safety of our swimmers.

    Working Safely

    We support our instructors and contractors by encouraging:

    • Safe equipment handling

    • Proper warm-ups and injury prevention

    • Hydration and appropriate deck footwear

    Ongoing Improvement

    AquaPulse reviews this policy regularly and adapts it as needed to maintain the highest standards of health and safety.

  • At AquaPulse, consistent attendance helps swimmers progress safely and confidently.

    • Missed Lessons: We do not offer make-up lessons.

    • Rescheduling: If you provide advance notice, we will do our best to switch your lesson time with another participant, subject to their availability.

    • Communication: Please notify us as early as possible to allow for scheduling adjustments.
